Dr. George Kavunkal was born and brought up in an agricultural family in India, an upbringing which instilled within him a keen interest and passion for the well being of animals. Dr. Kavunkal graduated in 1993 from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, India, and started his professional career as a provincial veterinarian. While veterinarians who make house calls may be rare in Canada, such is not the case in India. Dr. Kavunkal has many years of experience delivering care to animals in their homes.
Dr. Kavunkal moved to Canada in 2004 with his family, making Edmonton their home. He loves his family and enjoys the time with his caring w ife Susan and two wonderful little children, Georgina and Georgia. Dr. Kavunkal volunteered at Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic for thirty months and completed his licensure requirements to practice in North America in 2009.
A skilled and experienced veterinary surgeon, Dr. Kavunkal nevertheless prefers a proactive and holistic approach to veterinary medicine and thus has particular interest in preventive care and internal medicine. Qual ifying recently to practice in Canada has meant that Dr. Kavunkal has had the opportunity to become familiar with recent clinical advances. He looks forward to integrating these advances along with standard procedures to provide optimal care for your pet.
Besides his professional career, Dr. Kavunkal enjoys reading, music, travelling, painting, and creative writing.
